His Last Bow
By Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

His Last Bow is the fourth collection of stories featuring the master sleuth Sherlock Holmes, published in 1917. The first six were published in The Strand Magazine between 1908 and 1913.  The first story, “The Adventure of Wisteria Lodge”, is in two parts: “The Singular Experience of Mr. John Scott Eccles” and “The Tiger of San Pedro”. The final story, an epilogue on the subject of Holmes’ war service, “His Last Bow: The War Service of Sherlock Holmes”, was published by Collier’s Magazine in September 1917, a month before the release of the book. The book was adapted for BBC Radio in the early 1990’s as part of its complete radio production of the Sherlock Holmes canon by Bert Coules.
